Bare brick walls can be such a treasure for you to your home… while it can also be an eye-sore to others… basicly, it’s all in the eye of the beholder. Personally, I love bare brick walls, as they add a quirky quality, an imperfection that makes a room interesting.
Moreover, they add a gritty texture and an organic touch that you will not find in a plain stuccoed drywall. Because bare brick walls suit any style, they are great in contemporary, traditional or ecclectic styled interiors. As a result, they add that feeling of loft-living and a certain quality of cool.
MAKE YOUR OWN BARE BRICK WALLS
Exposed brick walls are usually exterior walls. You can create your own bare brick walls simply by just hacking off the plaster and seal the bricks. But don’t underestimate this job: it can be very very messy and thorough preparation is everything.
Here is a link to a hilarious post called “The Unhandy Man’s Guide to Exposing a Brick Wall” I had such fun reading it. I might just be tempted to give it a try myself, as I would love to have one of these bare beauties in my home. How about you?

Your idea of brick is spot on for interiors designs Whether it be whole rooms or even as an accent. I have replicated wine rooms, European kitchens, cafe’s, bath’s from using just hand painted trompe loeil to actual life like textures or even both. To me these finishes never get dated and you can always add or take away simple by using color In my business recently I see and hear of more of it coming back full circle again into the art deco or Early American. I believe that home owners are tiring of the white and cold chrome features for homes and leaving the cold metal to the commercial designs. http://art-faux.com/mural-projects/wine-room-mural/
