Dark kitchens are on my mind right now. I am doing a project creating visuals for a huge townhouse here in Amsterdam. This house will have a summer kitchen and a winter kitchen. s I am sitting here behind my desk at the window, staring outside, all I see are the grey wet skies that are so typically Dutch at this time of the year…. It’s rain and cold wind galore at the moment, which makes me cocoon indoors and compels me to make big batches of hot soup in my warm kitchen.
