stumbled upon this über bling bling house, whilst browsing the net. It is so unusual, I have never seen anything like it before. I love the aluminum shiny material used for the exterior, love the design with the large windows and definitely love the location.
Bling Bling House
This house was designed by the Norwegian architectural firm JVA, based in Oslo. It is situated in the Norwegian seaside archipelago of Vestfold. All the exterior walls have been clad in seawater resistant aluminum. This material plays along beautifully with the shifting daylight. Its appearance is altered every hour of the day.
The site has lots of big boulders and the little house is built in between them. To be able to do so, the house was split up in three interconnected smaller buildings. This created three outdoor spaces, giving several sun and shelter options during the day. The “outdoor rooms” are covered with fresh white fabric canopies, reminiscent of the sailboats floating by.
The interior has been kept very simple and here the aluminum material has been repeated. It has a light color-scheme and materials such as glass, steel and wood have been used. I love that suspended fireplace, I can see myself curling up in front of it with a good read. Wouldn’t this be the perfect weekend get-a-way?
