Black and White Interiors How To
When you think of Black and White interiors, the first thought that springs to mind is “cool, masculine and crisp” (at least it does with me). But the important thing with black and white interiors is to introduce lots of different textures. For example, add some weathered old wood materials (floors, old sideboards etc) and a few ethnic details (think sculptures, African masks or wall tapestries) and the space is suddenly “cosmopolitan, warm and cosy”. For a contemporary look go for acrylic and plastic (think Eames DSW and RAR chairs). For a futuristic, bachelor pad style go for steel and black leather (think Le Corbusier LC2 chairs). Patterns are important too, which can be added through throw pillows, carpets or curtains. For the bedroom you want soft materials, so go for silks and woollens. Throw in some sheepskins for a feminine touch. Adding some houseplants is a great idea to add a color accent. The images below give a good impression of what I mean, enjoy!
