Ii think that any interior design style can be enhanced with a touch of ethnic decor here and there. It radiates a certain worldliness, tells a story about the occupants and it lends a certain authenticity to the design. I myself have some beautiful pieces brought back from, amongst others,  South Africa. An ancient hand-carved door now hanging as an ornamental “conversation piece” against the wall,

an old wooden tray filled with Abelone shells found at Cape Agulhas, things like that. Below are some more examples of essential ethnic decor, I hope you like them as much as I do.
