Unfortunately for everyone that follows the trend of the foreseeable future, you are dated by that trend. I recently did a home show tour for “The Homes of Distinction Tour” in the Atlanta, Georgia area at “The Manor Golf and Country Club”. We all know the color theme for the next few years is grayze or( 50% Tan + 50% Gray). The problem with following a trend is that you date your project. Mosaic and contemporary also seem to be the theme of the year. These tend to get out dated quickly. We saw this in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
My suggestion is to do what you love and be a trend setter. If you took a recent trip say to Russia or Japan and you love the feel of the fabrics and textures as well as the colors then go for it! In the Atlanta market they call me a trend setter in the press. I just like to experiment and see where it takes me. I guess that is my artistic nature.

Thanks for your feedback but I think you misunderstand the intention of my blog. I’m not running after the trends of the moment, I would never dream of doing so. The series “Color of the Month” is just a representation of my personal mood of the moment and the reason to share it is that I hope that some of my readers will be inspired. Just like I get inspired by other blogger’s stories and imagery. Being a trendsetter is not one of my objectives, but I do think it’s essential to be up-to-date with the latest news and developments in our branch.
Machteld – thank you for your beautiful and inspirational photos. I especially love the blue library. It’s a rainy day in beautiful Vancouver, BC, and the photo makes me want to jump into the image, grab a book, and cozy up on that soft velvet sectional!

You’re very welcome! I spent one summer cruising around British Columbia a long time ago, you’re so lucky to live in such a beautiful place. Even if it’s a rainy day. I loved the laid back vibe of Vancouver and the abundant nature and wildlife (the bears, lynx and killer whales!) of the surrounding areas. Over here in Amsterdam we are enjoying our first warm weather, so today there will be no blogging. Instead, I will dive into our tiny city garden for a good spring clean and hopefully a nap in the sunshine as a reward. Enjoy your Sunday 🙂
