Iit has been a while since my last post. I have been very busy with my “real” job, making computer-generated visualisations for interior design projects. I thought it would be fun to post some of the latest results of an Amsterdam townhouse here today. It is a design for a typical Amsterdam-Zuid townhouse. These houses were built around 1900 and are usually about 15 metres deep by 6 metres wide.

The ceilings are high, around 3.20 metres and originally had lots of mouldings (which I like a lot!). Each house has its own little garden (facing south if you’re lucky) and I am fortunate enough to live in such an Amsterdam townhouse myself. It’s a great neighbourhood with lots of little boutiques, delicatessen, restaurants and the Vondelpark nearby.

In this design the kitchen is custom-made with bronze detailing and hidden lights in the recessed plints. There is a Viking double fridge and a downdraft extractor for the Gaggenau cooking hobs. The three glass chandeliers are by Lindsay Adelman and the dining chairs are by Philip Hurel. The tea-set on the kitchensink is by Tom Dixon and the wall sconces are by Modular.

In the livingroom the sofa is by Minotti, unholstered with a Dedar fabric. The coffee table is by Design Icon Warren Platner and the little round occasional is by Italian Meridiani (with a black candlestick by Danish design company Normann). The chandelier is by Dutch design company Moooi and the black floor- and wall lamp are by Design Icon Serge Mouille. On the mantelpiece you can see a mirror by Christopher Guy and a little hand sculpture by Kelly Wearstler.

Just to be clear: these images are not real photographs but 3D visualisations created by VKV Visuals (or me 🙂 ). Would love to hear your comments!
